Ego

Ego

A Poem by Hitchhiker

my ego walked with me
down the dark corridors of my left
it breathed the breath of
strength and awe
and gave it back to me
it pushed and pulled
o'er many difficult and lonely roads
eh . . . ego has become aged
as have I
its once strong input
these days
he puts the onus on me
I fear
I'm becoming something of a wimp

:: the tinge of black humour at the end makes this piece sparkle especially brightly... imho...
