Goodbye George Jones

Goodbye George Jones

A Poem by Randy Johnson
"

Dedicated to George Jones who died April 26, 2013.

"

You were a very talented man.

My late mother was always your fan.

Millions of people loved you and they loved to hear you sing.

Two of your best songs were Two story house and White lightning.

It's obvious that singing was your calling.

Now you're dead and frankly it's appalling.

But you had a long life and a wonderful career.

Every time you sang a song, people would cheer.

You had millions of fans and everybody knows your name.

Now that you're gone, country music will never be the same.

Not bad. You've managed to provide a nice tribute to Jones, I think, and while there's a few little errors here and there (capitalize the names of the songs, for one) this is still solid. A little simple for my tastes but it gets the job done. Good work.
