The Werewolf

The Werewolf

A Poem by Rashmi

For as long as I can remember

As far back as my first September

I’ve wanted you, little ball of light

As my howls have filled my lonely nights

With a glow so soft and tender

You must be of the fairer gender

And surely, countless knights

Like me, must for you fight

In my dreams I sometimes find you

You blind me and I bind you

Cowering like a baby pup

To make love to you or eat you up?

Does my pain eat you away?

You are half of what you were yesterday

Fear not, soon we’ll be together

I’ll be your lover and you my killer
