She Fell In Love With The Water

She Fell In Love With The Water

A Poem by Raquel Vaughn
"

This is about a girl who has water powers. But her amazing abilities turn to a devastating story that haunts her for the rest of her life. This is her story.

"

A tear on her cheek

A dip in the lake

Her lips touch the water

And her heart loves it

She could feel it from within her

She couldn’t keep it in anymore

So, she let what she loved the most, out

And let it flow

Before, she didn’t know

It was a part of her

Before, she didn’t know

She’d be something bigger

She fell in love with the water

The past is the past

Let it all go

But that was when she had friends

They said they’d be right by her side

But now they’re all gone.

She sits on the water’s surface

With thoughts in her mind

Before, she didn’t know

It was a part of her

Before, she didn’t know

She’d be something bigger

She fell in love with the water

They spit words at her

But instead she listens to the wind

They threaten her

But she closes her eyes and wanders away

Soon they will leave, she tells herself

And they do

Just a minute more, she pleads to herself

And she opens her eyes to the stars above

She feels the sway of the waves

A minute has ended

Time to move on

Before, she didn’t know

It was a part of her

Before, she didn’t know

She’d be something bigger

She fell in love with the water
