Beast of Burden

Beast of Burden

A Poem by Raven Starhawk

Callous necromancer, occupy your abhorrent tongue

Utter not canards that puncture hearts

Amidst dejection and woe malevolence nestles at you squalid bosom

Hallow are not the tears of the inadequate

As your wretched touch putrefies all

Retreat your unsolicited manifestation

Trouble may be what you seek

But you will not find it here

I love this. Now if I was a movie producer I would love to see this as some kind of spell to reject evil necromancers. I love it. You've done a very good job with this. Please don't stop to amaze us with your work.

Best wishes,
Victoria

I love this.. I've been with a beast and succumbed to every wish and sold my soul.. it took a long time to gather those pieces of me back up and now.. "trouble my be what you seek, but you will not find it here.." is my motto.. Well said as always..xoxo

Well said! Those that cannot hold that tongue and seek trouble can only absorb it if we give it back ;) xox

This is so utterly bewitched, Yet malice reflected right back as a boomerang...
I loved it. That ending is splendid Raven, so rich and adventurous, not overdone, exactly to the point... Enjoyed your beautiful vocabulair.

"Hallow are not the tears of the inadequate" Your style is always so enjoyable and adventurous ...one can feel the turmoil and relish the outcome what ever it may be. Excellent Write Raven!
