Prejudice

Prejudice

A Poem by Catrin Gold
"

Titled as it is because otherwise it seems hard to understand what the poem is about, and I couldn't think of anything better.

"

Yesterday's curse is rising again,
up from the depths of tomorrow.
The lepers will gather, infesting the womb,
and those who can't lead must follow.
This virus that blinds us from knowledge
is growing on fuel from the ancients,
a silent immovable scripture
that teaches a lesson in patience.

And time is a cancer that feeds
on all of humanity's needs,
indiscriminate germs
that force us to learn--
you can only depend on Today.

I'm finding it hard to relate all the imagery to the central metaphor.
