Cleaning Up The Mess

Cleaning Up The Mess

A Poem by Tiffany
"

How do you move on from something that you were so emotionally invested in? A sequel in the form of a sonnet to my other poem Anonymous Boy.

"
Eye contact was what had started the mess.
She looked away and he wanted a friend.
She then looked back, introducing the end.

Flirting back and forth, starting up her stress.
His lingering eye was all he’d express.
So she had no choice but to pretend
While he continued only to offend
Her with pointless clues, making her assess
This long, continuous cycle of hurt.

Her eye contact moved to someone who would
Never add up to Mr. Misunderstood
(And his two years of heartbreak) to divert
To a lover that would never revert
Her back to the person that was no good.

Her eye contact moved to someone who would, Never add up to Mr Misunderstood! What a catchy and provoking line! That's amazing poetry! I just swayed to the rhythm and fortunately while I read this piece of poetry of yours on my lap was my guitar and I never knew it would make such a nice jingling song starting with Amaj, F#min, Emaj and D before I strummed the chords and hummed along the poem! Gosh! That's cool! :)

Thank you :)
