The World (as she saw it)

The World (as she saw it)

A Poem by Beckie D
"

The world from the view point of a lost woman, and the affirming reply from her conscience.

"
This may well as a be a dream
Dreams float by on clouds of holographic images
Like the neck of the giraffe
Reality can get elongated
She stares at all of her fingers
Wondering if they are what they seem
And the usual analysing in between
The usual contemplating in between

She just started writing
She felt she just had to get it all out
It's finally exciting
For the first time in a good few months
Self centred
Regretfully, it can get self centred
Overwhelming
That is life; it can get overwhelming

Little child, in a way you are starting all over again
Going back to the past
Going right back to the beginning

Your personality changes
It changes all the time
And each mask that you wear fits you just fine
Each mask that you wear suits you just fine

This may well be a land of sweet pretenders
Gamblers betting their loved ones away through a game of Russian roulette
I must admit that it's getting scary
When the stakes are so high, yet nobody really cares

And now all that she is seeing is murder
When the woman was supposed to give birth
All she is hearing is complaining
And gossip and those insults so cruel and degrading
She's looking for colour and joy
On what seems to be a sad, dull grey earth
She's running in circles, pretending that she is really on top of the world

Dear woman, don't lose hope
You may see destruction but you are still moving
Progressing ever slowly, you are still progressing none the less
As a poet, as a thinker, as a dreamer, as a lover, as a giver
You have no need to resent
There is more to life than what you think

A woman has gotten to the end of her tether and cries out in despair at the supposed state of helplessness of the world. The words in italics is a reply from somewhere deep inside.

This rings in the passages...and I understand the back and forth motive with the italics gives the read a credibility and a sense of passion in the lines for the reader to engulf and touch basis within the words of this one...I keep having to look farther into the lines:

This may well as a be a dream
Dreams float by on clouds of holographic images
Like the neck of the giraffe
Reality can get elongated
She stares at all of her fingers
Wondering if they are what they seem
And the usual analysing...(Analyzing) in between
The usual contemplating in between

Dear woman, don't lose hope
You may see destruction but you are still moving
Progressing ever slowly, you are still progressing none the less
As a poet, as a thinker, as a dreamer, as a lover, as a giver
You have no need to resent
There is more to life than what you think

I just see more into this then just the read...I guess...no I believe...
