You Know Not What I Feel

Real life...

You know not what I feel

You know not why I pull away

You think you do nothing wrong

And continue saying the things you say

 

Eternity is where I search

Forever is why I try

Never is why I don’t give up

And yesterday is why I cry

 

Words have many meanings

Listen to every one

It’s not just what is being said

Its how it’s being done

 

Some may yell

Some can be calm

Some are just blank

While some are harsh like a bomb

 

You think you know how I feel

And why I feel it too

But you don’t know the first part

Of being me because you’re you

 

Oh, why do I try so hard?

Why do I hang on tight?

Is it because I’m scared to fall,

Or because I see a future bright?

 

I listen to the wind

I smell rain when it hits the ground

I hear every sigh and groan

I feel almost every sound

 

And when I feel empty

It’s like the muse has run away

I pick up pen and paper

Yet I know not what to say

 

So you think you know what I feel?

Yet my shoes are too small for you

They’ve seen much heartache and pain

THEY know why I feel so blue…
