What do I know

What do I know

A Poem by Melissa
"

Beginnings

"

I'm not polished-
a bit rough around the pen,
but I'm well inked.

My humble beginnings
started with a thirst to mix verse,
with hands that were inept.

Time produced a few winners-
I'd sweet-talked them between blue lines.
My Everest moment.

Still, what did I know?

An ant is industrious,
always toiling from sunrise
to sunset.

I too toil,
striving to be a poet.
However-
I fear I'll never meet my eve
as purposeful as an ant.

But I'll try-

Try.... that's the only thing which can make a difference... :)
'What do I know?' is that it was sweet and nicely framed..

Thank you for your review. I'm finding that poetry is a journey and I've lots to learn as of yet

Wow. Good to know...You are welcome...:)
Another nice piece. I think we all strive to be something, somewhere along the lines and the truth is, we will never really know until we try. The ants didn't.
