Elemental Despair II

Elemental Despair II

A Poem by Perry
"

using the different elements as a vocal point for expressing emotions of despair and desparation.

"

A fire burns at the back of my eyes,

as the water churns

within your yurning.

The Earth quakes in it's own demise,

but the whisper of the wind

says the earth is still turning.

The power of the Sun

with influence of the Moon,

life blooming as it consumes,

fighting inside of a womb. Doomed

with a certainty of life ending too soon.

With death pursuing,

fight's in the fact that it's still worth doing..

In a fire burning,

Ocean of drowning,

six feet deep in the earth

and running out of the air.

In despair,

I know you want to hide,

but why do you run away?

You want to feel alive,

you want to touch the day.

So, why run into the night to die?

Why don't you just stay here?

I know how hard you've tried,

so why try and disapear?

A digested will to fight the fate we're under.

Starving to find a way to feed the hunger

for just a taste of being a man, of being braver

if it wasn't for the fear that consumes all the flavor.

Far too late, I savor her last moments

beacause I couldn't save her..

Asking why because I tried for you,

trying not to let you die, but I can't save a life...

I can feel you somewhere, blowing on a gust in the wind

about to crack on a crashing wave of the ocean.

Asking why because I die for you

in telling you to die for me, I can't take a life.

I can feel the souls of cold ashes and coals,

burnt out flames that are burning up my insides.

Gasping for your water and air, I'm being buried alive,

deep inside and far away hidden somewhere.

In the womb of mother earth, she sing's me a prayer.

We share her everlasting elemental despair.

Fighting is burning

Loving is drowning

Searching is digging

but Giving up is blowing away...
