The Demon Inside

The Demon Inside

A Poem by RedCatalina

Your inner demon tells your story better than anyone
She'll be blunt and detailed and not so fun
The struggles that are in your mind day after day
She doesn't let you forget them, they don't go away.

When you lie at night ready sleep
She'll pull your mind a million miles deep
Your wheels will spin inside your head
Your mind and body will never meet your bed

You think you forgot that lie you told last year?
Your inner demon will remind you, & she'll do it with an evil sneer.
The person inside of you that you push to the side
Your inner demon wants you to take her with stride.

The inner demon isn't really bad at all
She wants you to be you without any fall
Own who you are, own it with pride
Remember your never alone, the demon is there for the ride.

So whatever struggle you face today, tomorrow and next week,
Know your never alone, you are never weak.
It is okay to be you and you should never be ashamed
You have nothing to lose, but only to gain.
