Where Have All The Ladies Gone?

Where Have All The Ladies Gone?

A Poem by RedNevac
"

A poem describing the hardships of being male in today's society...

"

The women want gentlemen,
but we need ladies to bring
out the chivalry in us, men.
The older women like it and say,
“Thank you,” with a smile. The
younger ones treat you like all
you want is sex, but food is
nice… and we get perplex’d
because we are told that the
women like gentlemen, yet
give us the cold shoulder when
we are all gentlemanly.
The women are angry when
we open the doors for them…
“I can get it myself,” they
say with a look that could kill.
They think it rare when we give
up a chair or think it neat
when we give up a seat. But
stand up when they leave and they
will be peeved and shoot you the
death look that makes you feel like

you could draw you last breathe… now.

This poem is so true
About the relationship of men and women
When did we start to get askew
Not to differentiate any more the meow
From the sheer gentleman?

Despite all they say
One must be honest to oneself
A life without a play
Of civilization is worth less than
When we indulge ourselves
Into this game called
Courteousness

I will not lie, I am a strong minded female, but I ALWAYS appreciate a gentlemanly act :) Just what kind of "the women" are you trying to attract? hahaha

I like how this is like a call to arms for men and, for some, a wake up call. It's interesting how you say "the women" rather than just "women". I think just "women" might flow better but by saying "the women" it kinda gives the female sex a mythical quality. Either way, I liked it and definitely want to see more. Also, great title!

i think that in today's society, women are no longer the nice and sweet people that they once were. what you have expressed in this piece is sadly very true. for me, i would like to be treated properly by a gentlemanly man. chivalry is not dead, it's just hiding behind the liberated woman.

nice job.

Always,

Amanda = ))))
