TALES FROM THE DOLLARAMA

It was an ordinary Tuesday, time came to face and clean the shelves. As I went through the food aisle, I saw three Reeses packages torn open, the empty little cups scattered about. Seemed like someone had a little snack. Disgruntled, I brought them to the back so that they could be damaged out. While I was there, I mentioned my findings to a co-worker of mine. A curious quirk grows on their countenance.

Co-worker - "Weird, I found a bunch of packages like that last week."

Little did I know, I had stumbled upon the calling card of the Reeses Bandit!

For the next couple of Tuesdays, we would find the same crime scene at the exact same location. Three empty Reeses wrappers with the cups all scattered about. It was a perplexing situation. They were clearly eating all nine Reeses if they were going through the trouble of taking the little individual wrappers off, but how could they possibly do that without getting detected?

For weeks, we brainstormed the possibilities. Perhaps they weren't eating them all at once, maybe they stuffed them in their cheeks and slowly munched on them as they browsed around store. In that case, we were dealing with a chipmunk-human hybrid. That was far above our pay grade to handle.

On the next Tuesday, I tried to keep my eye on the food aisle, but unfortunately I got called up to cash. While I was scanning one lady's items I couldn't help but notice her... let's say lacking dental hygiene. It looked like her gum-line was just oozing with plaque whenever she spoke. I thought it was kind of gross, but didn't pay much mind to it.

When I was off cash, I went to return to my duties, but my co-worker stops me. He displays three more empty packages of Reeses.

Co-worker - "The Reeses Bandit strikes again!"

That's when it hit me. The lady with the bad teeth. It wasn't plaque at all, it was chocolate that covered her gums! I came face to face with the Reeses Bandit and was completely oblivious! I had to take a seat by that point. A man does not simply cross paths with such a felon and lives to tell the tale.

I confess to my manager and provide her with as many details of the situation as possible. Now that we know the Reeses Bandit's identity, we will soon know the how and the why. After that day though, the case went cold. We never saw the Reeses Bandit again, nor did we ever find any empty Reeses packages again.

The mystery of the Reeses Bandit will forever remain unknown to us mortals. And perhaps, it is better that way.
