Valentine 2010

Idk, just writing i suppose

 

Roses are usually red and when you’re lucky grass is green

But today I’m feeling blue with no excitement in between

I bear brief jealousy for the exchanging of chocolate and love for one day

Even though I can be a hater, I prefer to look the other way

But as this is a mushy holiday, allow me to be mushy

I’ll tell you how sweet cupid’s day is without avoiding it like a bush beat

Love is in the air today and be blessed if you inhale it

Treat it like your oxygen for you can never overwhelm it

A day to have without excuse that’s made just for the lovers

Regardless of your status just avoid the haters that hover

Is this day based upon chocolates or a rose?

Or maybe just a simple kiss I suppose

Ladies receive proposals and men buy promise rings

Men may get surprises and ladies may purchase cards that sing

While younger couples exchange teddy bears and valentine cards. . .

Older couples are probably having dinner or a party in their yards

What we practice on this day should be something daily done

Going to sleep holding the one you love even after the rising of the sun

Sadly I notice that love is being scheduled like time

If it comes at all is the greatest sign

Like an addict on this day I long for you to be mine

Still I can’t tell you I know how it feels to have a 2010 Valentine

i can dig this. some times valentine days can be blue, especially if you don't have that certain one to be with. half of my valentines day was by myslef. yes I was blue for a while then it perked up. this is a very descriptive writing of valentine feelings.
