The book of you

The book of you

A Poem by Reinrose
"

Inspired by a love letter from Tove Jansson to her future husband

"

I want to read more in the book of you

A book of years, of yours

The pages filled with love, with lore, with life, with lives

Temptation, to immerse, to sink

to swim and splash, to taste and drink

The overwhelming need to read

The cost of drowning is a life

But more,

A touch for texture, more than in the mind

The presence, weight of it, so rare

An alpha bite can change your life

I want to read more in the book of you

I want to leaf through it

Browse at will and leisure

Pages to flit, to flick

to open delicately

Or grasp and grab, devour

The book will last

a lifetime, more,

The book will last

To read unconditionally

To change an I to we

I read with speed

Impatience, greed

Saving, savoring, marks to reread

Skipping chapters, coming back, and again

I hope the book never ends. What a wonderful, romantic piece!

You would have to ask the book :)
It is a fantasy, almost real...
I can't love this enough.
Gets better each time I read it.
Largely because this is how I actually read.
But also... Holy God is that romantic.
