Fear

Fear

A Poem by Bat-Becca
"

A basic, if exaggerated, explanation as to why I'm a shy introvert.

"
You approach me
And I can't tell one heart beat
From the next
You open your mouth,
You speak,
I can hardly listen
For the fear, whose icy hand
Has gripped my soul.
You touch me
And I scream
You only brushed against my arm
Yet the "violation"
Makes me sick.
You wonder why I
Chose not to speak to you?
I suppose you could say,
It's because I'm afraid of you...

Author's Note

Bat-Becca
Although the "You touch me/And I scream" bit was somewhat exaggerated, it's not entirely untrue. If I don't know that someone's behind me and they touch me, or say something, I will at least jump, and occasionally will scream.
