Cages

Cages

A Poem by Bat-Becca

Deep inside, where your broken pride lies

With your dignity, how dare you ask to breathe?

Your audacity, why try to free me?

We are but birds within a cage

We can bend the bars, but they'll never break

We can reach out, but we'll never touch

Blame the jailers?

Or blame ourselves?
