For In The Name Of My Son

For In The Name Of My Son

A Poem by Joseph - Michael
"

For some strange reasons, I wrote this for my son, Jonathan Matthew, as a Christmas gift of 2007 for him when he was only 2 at that time. But he will read it when he get older.

"

Out Of All Of My Whole Entire Life

I've Never Really Believed In The Miracle At All

Not Even Half Close Enough To Believe In The Light

Until The Day You Were Born That Had Left Me Breathless

The First Look At You;

The First Smell Of You;

The First Sound From You;

The First Touch On You;

Everything About Your First Appearance Had Left Me Speechless

That Day You Were Born, You've Became My True Salvation

I've Never Knew That There Are So Much Joy

All From Just Only One Simple Little Boy

I Fell In Love After The Fact That You're Already My Son

Whenever You're Around, I've Become So Grateful

You've Given Me So Much Of The Pleasant

As You're My Natual Drug Of Anti-Depressant

The Fact Of Having You As My Son, I'm So Thankful

I Don't Know What I Would Do Without You

And I Wouldn't Dare To Think About It For A Moment

Only To Think And Remember About Our Times Together

And To Believe Of What's The Best For You

I Was Never Taught How To Be Your Father

Except For You

You've Taught Me How To Be Your Father

As Much As I'm Teaching You To Be My Son

I Always Will Be Your Best Friend

Yes, I May Be Your Father;

Yet, I Always Will Be Your Teacher

Yes, I May Be Your Mentor;

Yet, I Always Will Be Your Protector

I Was Once Nobody's Gladiator, But Now I'm Your Protector

I Always Will Be There For You All The Way To The End

Only Just For Your Life;

Only Just For Your Love;

Only Just For Your Legacy;

Altogether In Order To Build Up Your Own Personal Legend

I'll Always Will Be Your Own Personal Gargoyle;

The Perfect Type Of The Kind To Be Your Guardian

And There's Nothing In This World Will Take Us Apart

And Nothing Will Stop The True Beatings Of Our Hearts

At Any Costs; At All Costs; No Matter What;

My Ultimate Sacrifice Is For Your Salvation

That's My Promise Toward You

Not Just Because I'm Your Father,

Only Because I Love You Within All Of My Heart And Soul

touchy, so deeply touchy..you really did pour your heart out my friend and it's really nice to see a father's love testimony to his son. the flow is'nt too smooth(just an unecessary observation :-) ) but the lines add up to a master piece. it has this energy radiating from it that makes one want to go out, call his child,hug him/her and say "i love you"

This is one of those pieces that truly shows the love and compassion you have for your son. A father and son have a very special bond very different from a mother and daughter bond. It's almost like father and son are connected by one soul, and not two. One being, one light, just two different people. I don't have kids, so I don't know what the love feels like, but with the way that this poem has spoken to me, I can feel it almost as real as if it's going through my body.

You have your chance now. Love your child, protect your child. I too often find that the most wonderful families lose sight of each other and love for each other. With you, I don't think I have to worry about that.

Wonderful writing.

This is Beautiful....I think it "Flows" as it was intended.....Nothing compares to the Love a Parent has for a Child....Emotional and Powerful....Your Son will Treasure this for a Lifetime.....He will know without a doubt how much he means to you....Awesome and Touching!

This is really beautiful, Joseph. I disagree with some of the comments about it not flowing, as a matter of fact I think it is supposed to feel very natural; as if the rawness and straightforwardness lends itself to the genuine emotions you are portraying. Good work!

Fantastic and really conveys love towards your son. I like the way you have split this up using smaller stanzas to make parts stand out to the reader. You leave the reader in no doubt that you will fight for him and along side him for the rest of his life and that is a worthy thought.
