Red's Ghost

Red's Ghost

A Poem by Joseph - Michael
"

Sean M Adams requested me to write a ghost story for Halloween, so here goes nothing.

"

Walking Across The Old Cemetery Off The Path

Looking At All Of Those Graves And Tombstones

A Beautiful Woman In Red Is Enjoying The Natures

Humming Softly To Create Her New Personal Tones

Looking At The Sparrows Fluttering Around Birdbath

The Sky Started Turning Gray And Darkens

She Faces Up, Looking Around And Wondering

Everything Seems To Becoming Even More Blurry

In The Back Of Her Innocent Mind That's Pondering

Fading In Harshly, The Sounds Of The Dogs Barking

She Quickly Stands On Her Guard High And Mighty

See Nothing, But The Statues And Gargoyles Everywhere

The Wind Dies Slow And The Sound Begins The Purring

According To Her, It Sounds Like "Come On Over Here"

Her Heart Beats Faster As She Get Even More Frighten

The Woman Runs Toward The Gargoyle To Hide

Leaning Against The Stone Base Of The Statue

Suddenly, She Hears The Nasty Sound Of Slurping

A Small Drop Of Slimy Drool Like Lands On Her Shoe

She Looks Up Then Covers Her Mouth To Avoid The Cry

The Statue Of Gargoyle Resembles From Her Past

The One And The Only Demon She Once Fought

Her Stomach On Its Own Begins Hastily To Churn

Because The Gargoyle Is Looking At Her Thoughts

She Lets Out Her Scream And Runs Away Fast

The Statue Jumps Out And Begins The Chase

She Runs Into The Forests From The Graveyard

Her Decisions Keep Giving Her The Wrong Turn

The Gargoyle Rams Through Everything Hard

So It Would Never Loose Her Scents To Trace

She Accidentally Runs Back Into The Same Spot

The Woman Turns Around And Breathing Heavy

The Demon Stops And Stares At Her For Sure

It's Stone Body Crackles As It Moves Steady

She's Looking At It And Could Feel It's Heat Rots

It Leans Closer To Her As She's Still On Her Feet

They Are Looking At Each Others In Their Eyes

It Notices That Her Big Blue Eyes Remains Pure

It Smiles At Her And Hushing, "Relax, You're Fine"

She Whispers, "Oh, My, You Still Have Big Teeth"

The Demonic Gargoyle Smiles Out More Foul

That It Finally Getting The Personal Vengeance

And Shredding Her To Pieces For It's Own Cure

Showing No Mercy Nor Remorse Like Any Menaces

As It's Done Eating Her, It Breaks Out The Howls

It Already Had Been More Than Several Years

Since The Little Red Riding Hood Had Won

Against The Big Bad Wolf's Ultimate Curse

His So Called Tricks Caused Him To Be Gone

From Being Beaten And Left To Death And Tears

I really like your style of writing. Very gloomy, grey, dark. Very well constructed piece. The reader is taken in for a ride and forced to see it through. This is what makes a good poem. Loved the story and the imagery. Will continue to read your stuff.

Dark and haunting. Very visual in description. Stimulates the readers ear to hear the sounds of the written word. Skillfully written. Enjoyed from beginning to twisted end.
