Impressive with Incident

A Poem by BruceJackson
"

We may not be as popular as we would like to be. Once we reach a certain level of it, we either seek to find a solitary moment of peace or we just can't get enough of being desired and sought out.

"

Popularity kills.

Yes, it kills the very human soul.

It rips dignity from the core,

Leaving a void and a gaping hole.

It is the thing

That makes you believe that you are king

and to keep it

You'll do anything.

Anything?

Yes, even kill someone dear.

Maybe you'd kill someone near.

Popularity kills.

Yes, it kills the person's drive.

It makes one seem impressive,

But very few truly survive.
