Veiled

Gasp and grasp at words
where
two thirds of what we know
we only think we know.

Where
every breath we take
only makes us less than more,

with no room for keeping score

Where
we intertwine with
the complexity sublime
to tell with indirection
everything we have to say,

in strategic circumspection.

The older I get the more I realize I know less than I think I did....I guess it's the complexities that make us human and cautious, if we said what we really meant half the time, there'd be a lot less confusion, but then you'd have no reason to write this lovely poetry either.
