The Attic

The Attic

A Poem by Vria P Crow
"

"Hidden in the pages of a crackled book..."

"

I sat behind
the transparent film;
    I wondered if I was alone
    in such a cosmic illusion.

Hidden in the pages
of a crackled book;
   I absorbed the thoughts of you,
   wondering if it was reality.

I stood with the frontmen
in the exotic undergrowth.
  I felt the adrenaline of exile;
  a deserter of the two families.

I cower in the foreboding attic;
a horror comfort;
  I wonder what is like to live
  in beauty that I loved.

Perhaps locked away in an attic, trying to see through the exhaust vent, drinking in the thin beams of light and dreaming of what was...but the mind of the reader stands unlocked and open wide within the thoughts this wonderful piece of art has produced. Very nicely done my friend.

Thank you! :D
i was attracted by the title and not disappointed by the poem...i think attics are fascinating...something a bit eerie, yet there is usually a lot of dust covered history in those crevasses.

i too thought of "flowers in the attic"---there was horror and those kids weren't getting the chance to live in beauty and with love...

really like this poem.
