Lovely, time never grows old or sparse. Even when nothing stands but our words blossoms bloom.

Not only creation that zings the imagination, such lovely views... but also your usual polite address to form.. seems even so, immensely natural as well as academic.

You display and teach so subtly, Richard. One day, when really brave, might try again! Til then, bravo!

I can't pretend to review with the skill that some of my peers are able to Richard, but I can recognise a darn good poem when I see one, and this is one of those. Love the structure, the rhyme scheme and the beautiful message of love contained in your stanzas. Great heartfelt sentiment and poetic expression. I particularly enjoyed the internal rhyme which works so well here. I like very much the idea that we tip toe through life and when we leave, everything will carry on without us in the world of nature. Happy new year.

May the ink in your skilled pen continue to flow to give your readers respite from the atrocities that seem to beset the world today. May it be the 'escape' the 'refuge' from its unpleasantness. Thank you for sharing beautiful thoughts through meaningful dialogue. May you and yours enjoy a delightful 2020.

The dichotomy of being human centers largely on the fact of human relationships. Humans are the only creature that need other humans. Aside from the domesticated animals that we have created to fulfill our own needs. I think about this sometimes--I mean the ways that there are essentially two worlds contained within this one earth, and how that divide between us and nature has grown ever wider through the course of human time.

I like the way your poem honors the foreverness of nature--the ways it is resilient and does not need outside forces to sustain it. It will not weep for us, no. And the birds will continue in their beautiful songs even if every last human is gone. Unlike us, nature does not offer beauty in exchange for praise. It offers beauty because it is essential to the functioning of the planet and continuation of the myriad species that inhabit it. The fact that beauty is functional is a wonderful thing.

I like the way your poem focuses on the understanding of our insignificance in the grander scheme of things. And dances with the timeless beauties of nature. And then, finally, honors that greatest of human achievements--Love.

A lovely poetic idea here, Richard.
