And here is it... the poetry that melts a heart and holds every breath, as it's read. Those golden words are simply captivating. No handsome buff needed. Beautiful souls always recognize each other. They are drawn by the beauty within... and there lies the magic of love. What more is there to say? Outstanding! Certainly, a treat to all of us romantics!

How wonderful to receive such high appreciation and accolades from one of the sites premiere poetesses.
You never fail to let me know we've connected in a deeply meaningful manner … what better could a hopefully humbled bard wish for?
This particular piece is quite special to me, and I am pleased you've taken to it with such affectionate aplomb.
Thank you ever-so warmly, Susan ⁓ Richard 🌼

"New and unexpected." I like that, though, there are a couple of more recent pieces; albeit; ne'er a one romantic.
Your "humble opinion" matters a great deal to this olde bard; especially, when it shines with such gracious aplomb.
Thank you ever-so gratefully, Brother Tim, for your accolades and for taking time to share and comment on this flighty fantasy piece! ⁓ Richard🖌
That was really well written. A golden love poem filled with affection, desire and devotion. The rhyming is nice and the cadence gives this piece a songlike quality. Beautifull done.

This is beautiful and long awaited! It's like the first breath of spring, promising warmth and roses. It reminds me of a video that I saw once of a cluster of a half a billion Monarch butterflies in a grove. As the weather warmed, the forest came to life with the flutter and sounds of all the Monarch butterflies. As they flew from the trees, it was like a cascade of golden leaves, a shower of golden coins. I am glad that you dusted off your old pen finally to shower us with the treasure of your words. It's going to be a good year indeed!

I am simply thrilled you found such gratifying favor in these imaginative make-believe verses of flighty romance and promise. My imagination does tend to have a mind all its own. 😏
My education on the Monarchs was via an hour long PBS documentary, following their migration in early Fall from as far north as Southern Canada to the southern tropical forests of Mexico to breed, flying in hoards for thousands of miles. They pass through the middle of Texas from late September to around the middle of November, and a second wave across Houston in the Gulf Southeast for about three weeks until the second week in November; then, the new adults return throughout Spring and Summer … each trip takes 4-6 generations to make the trip each way. It's an awesome sight to see so many beautiful Monarchs resting overnight in yards, trees, shrubs, and fields taking-off again at first light.
Your juxtaposition of the Monarch's mass beginning flight to "a cascade of golden leaves, a shower of golden coins" is sheer perfection in imagery, but what else would one expect from You?
Thank you so very much, Linda Marie, for sharing this romantic little fantasy piece with me and for your encouraging praise.
Ahhh, Richard my dear, such a lovely poem.
Full of want and desire …
Words are so very important
even quietly unspoken.
I love the easiness of your rhymes…
The flow moves me along its side.

what a nice melody these lines make:) the structure of 6/6 makes a surprising tune with the interlacing stressors I never try this but I like it very much I oft do quatrains of 6/8/6/8 for this type of poem. the feeling that flows from these lines is perfectly crafted old friend

Yes, isn't it like magic, the dancing rhythms metered lines can create when blended with lovely laid syntactic words in flowing poetic voice?
The 8/6/8/6 Ballade meter is one of the most enduring all-time popular of them all, and your 6/8/6/8 count is one I have yet to try, but is sure interesting enough to give a go, and I soon shall.
Thank you so very much for sharing this wee romantic poem with me, and your blessing's bright praise! ⁓ Richard 🍂

i wonder if "first" and "true" love can possibly be one and the same? Yet, I get the gist of your meaning that it, sometimes, makes a difference to know.
Still, it's obvious you grasp that "love" is "love" when you see it … while it seems so many can't.
Your praise makes writing and sharing a pleasure! ⁓ Richard🖌
