Faith, To Me

Faith, To Me

A Poem by Rikkevi Rue
"

the dreams in ones heart actually CAN be realized

"

Faith to Me

How can I rise to a finer being,

less of the mortal-more supreme,

find within me a way of seeing,

from sorrow and loss a way of freeing

my fellow man afraid and fleeing,

with friendly mien restore his trust ,

bring peace, with words his hopes redeem?

Had I but the seabird’s wings,

I’d ride the wind to greater things,

no Sparrow flitting tree to tree,

more like the poignant quality,

of a Bluebird’s song- swelled chest to sing,

an Eagle soaring ‘bove the scene,

where mountains tower, waves crash below,

the way to cure all ills I’d know.

Teleport me in a ship from space,

the saucer shape of some other race,

wraithlike-streak past light or sound,

in seconds blur from stars to ground,

appear then far across the galaxy,

a spirits racing thought to guide me,

permeate in all-omniscience,

know with a mind of the highest conscience,

intrinsic sense of natures wisdom,

from all man’s ignorance I’d free him.

No less despite my lofty thoughts,

I’ll settle then for what I’ve got,

come back to Earth my lot to slake,

grow wiser yet from each mistake,

I’ll land with feet back on the ground,

like cats that fall then sniff around,

my lips are tugged- a growing smile,

once back among mankind awhile,

find pleasure in those crafts well plied

look my misfortune in the eye,

just let these simple values be,

for these are religion-faith, to me.

I appreciate your contemplative prose...these are such important questions to explore and I take tremendous comfort in knowing i am not alone in my incessant need to try and understand our place in this curious landscape. This is such a personal individual discovery and as much as we gain comfort in community, it is still a very lonely journey at times. In the last stanza, you give forth a feeling of resolve. I understand how elusive that can be, but I'm glad to see you experienced it if only for a moment. :)

Always good to read a piece that inspires... the sentiments expressed are easy to appreciate. It's easy to lose sight of the beauty that we often ignore, and reminders like this are timely indeed...

I believe that we have this already, we just have to remember who we are..this is a well thought out and thought provoking read..what a lovely thought if we could all get to this consciousness..the world would be a joy to live in..
