My Ralph Ellison Moment

My Ralph Ellison Moment

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
"

Freeverse

"

Jack Frost was certainly lost

As I tossed to and fro under

The glow of the fire from the flame

Ushering the new year like last

Year; in pain again

The limitations from

 the stroke are

Still visible

As reality is divisible

By the scars

Thus far that I think

Are invisible

This is my

My Ralph Ellison

moment

Atonement

For the sins of

The past

The present

With future

Righteousness

Yet to be determined

But I know

That you reap

What you sow

Sooooooo

Why should a

New Year be

Any different for me?

All

Because now I am

Walking a different path

Doesn't absolve me

From the sins of my

Past

i don't know if we can ever be totally absolved from the past, but we can come to some kind of terms with it.
maybe by becoming Invisible in some sense......

really like the style of this poem, the short impactful lines..
