Different Directions

Different Directions

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
"

Freeverse

"
She needs her hair stroked
She needs jokes and
Reasons for laughter
That is what she is after
An emotional connection
Lots of affection
But sadly she won't
Get that from me
The only orgasim
She can get
Is intellectually
Cause physically
I am inept
Too many times
I have wept
Because the promises
To self
Haven't been kept
Only to realize
That I need to
Keep my eyes
On the prize
Still I hear her say
That she needs
Foreplay
But that is not
The way I play
She needs
Love and affection
It's ashame
We are heading
In different directions?

Author's Note

Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
This is about a woman's need for more and a man's response in giving less. In some ways they are compatible and other ways they are not. Fear, hurt and vulnerability is what he uses to keep her away.

isn't that how it is...women need more from us, and we give them less...i am guilty of this...for many years i held back after a heartbreak, it affected me way too long, and the women i was with really suffered for that...and it was not fair to them.

Gee
Just give them what they want if an easy life is what you're after, but beware, pre menstrual, menstrual, post menstrual weeks, that then leaves you with 3months where you stand a chance of doing the "right thing".3 months in every year!!!!!!

You're most welcome
I like how this illustrated how different women and men tend to love each other. I hope the narrator in this piece can find a way to believe in his ability to give her what she needs, if only he is willing to take the risk. I know I for one would rather take the risk of being hurt and rather than staying safe and alone behind the mask of Protection. Nice job.
