She asked me if

I wouldn’t mind

Being her Valentine

So I asked her what

Did she have in mind?

I told her that I was

Not the candy giving

Flower sending

Type of guy and

That’s why

I don’t celebrate it

And why I hate it

Because this whole

Holiday is another

Way

For them to get into

Your pockets

So I say stop it

Because Valentine

Should be celebrated

All year

Cherishing the ones you

Hold dear

While loving them all

Year

Why they are still here

But it was

Unclear what she

Wanted from me

When she asked me

If I didn’t mine

Being her Valentine

So again 

I asked her what

Exactly

Did she have in her mind?

As I told her that I was

Not the candy giving

Flower sending

Type of guy and

Besides in my mind

Was the St. Valentine

Massacre in 1929

Where the weight of this

Tragedy

Equates with the same

Hate we face today

Except a different time

A different mission

Deaths caused because

Of Prohibition but

What is not missing

Is the participation of

The Boys in Blue

That’s what connects

These two events

And makes more sense

Because cops

Were identified as the

Shooters only because of

Their uniforms but

Couldn’t be tried for

Their crimes

Because they remained

Unidentified

Just like modern times

Cops still getting away

With all of their crimes

So as you can see for me

That St. Valentine Day

Is a disaster

Because it reminds

Of the massacre that

Happen in 1929 and

Still is happening in

These modern times
