Impossible

Impossible

A Poem by Ripple of Aqua
"

A tragic story of a false love... Inspired by Impossible by Shontelle

"
I was innocent;
 Stupid;
Naive.
I was so careless to forget something so important.
Something I should've known from the beginning.
Quickly I tread up the spiraling steps,
Further and further up I go,
Till only a door stood in my way,
But I shoved it open without a thought.
Wind hit me in a force,
Lights shown so bright from thing that stood before me
Stinging my eyes.
That was when my tears came with the thoughts,
 You left so easily.
Gone in a flash.
 The memories,
 The things we shared,
 Photos in albums,
Laughter and love;
 All tainted.
The tears sear down my cheeks,
Leaving cracked trails in their wake.
 My feet crunch against the gravel,
 The city moving busily below,
Unknowing on what I am about to do,
All my scars are shown on my face,
 Never do I believe I could be whole once again.
No one can save me, I'm sure of it,
 Nothing now binds me to the world I live in,
There's simply no reason.
And I'm too afraid to know that it's bound to happen again.
No. I won't let that happen.
 I will never let it happen to me again,
 I think  as my toes touch nothing but air,
 The bright lights shine in beams into my eyes as I stare down,
 Tears falling like crystals quickly to the far ground.
 Empty promises were made,
Embarrassments were not saved,
 Nothing could undo the strings that you wound tight around my heart,
 Even now.
  I still love you.
 But I don't deserve to be here,
 If you won't love me,
 Who will?
I will never be ready for this,
But I will do the unthinkable,
Like what we were called: the impossible.
 I guess they were right.
What a fool I was to ever fallen in love.
And so I lift my hands,
 Brace myself,
 Lifting off of the ground with the last breath of life in me;
Surrendering my body to the sky;
And I soar.

I appreciate you reading my stuff, and if you were wondering on where this came from; Impossible from Shontel. I just don't know, I think I was inspired by the way she sounded like she was singing to the wide open air, in a place that could never hear her hurt. And so this was made. :) Hope you enjoyed!
Edit: this is the new version, so if you didn't like this one so much, I'm sorry but I thought it was a little left out of a few things that I could've done to make it more real. But it you did like this one great! Tell me though, was the first your favorite? Or was this one even a little better?

Beautiful work, and really sad. I loved the fluid style - smetimes strict structures are reallylimiting - and the maning really captured me. The image you included really matches the one that as forming in my mind, so well one there, nd an all round beauty of a piece. Well done :)

Wow! That was very disturbing but beautiful at the same time. Its the way you describe things and flow every sentence together that makes me hold my breath through every poem you write. You have a real gift. Keep it up!
