My Friend

My Friend

A Poem by Ashley Robel

As I sit here, I begin to wonder.
Where did the time go?
The long nights of talks,
They’ve nearly faded.

Missing your presence in my life.
Wishing that time would stop,
Giving me more time with you.
My confidant, my friend.

So tired, you are, as you sit here with me.
I watch as you slowly fade away.
I smile as I remember,
Talks, secrets, music, and love.

I know it isn’t gone forever,
But the times where I need you grow.
Now I need you, but mustn’t wake you,
As you lie dreaming in your bed.

One day our talks shall return,
And you’ll put a smile on my face again.
I love you, my friend, and hold you dear.
As you go through your life, know I’m always here.

This is the best wish that a friend can make for another.
Lovely work.

Ever since I was a young girl I have loved to write. This could have stemmed from my own mother's love of such a pass-time and career goal. I have, in the past, written many things. However, I have .. more..
