Monsters' Ball

Monsters' Ball

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

Were any of you invited?

"

The Monsters are having a shindig

They’ve rented the Teamster’s Hall

They’re putting on their finest furs

For the annual Boogeyman’s Ball

You may remember last year’s;

It made the evening news

The Monsters ate Chad Peters

Who did the interviews

He was the perfect finger food,

Press corps flesh and bone

And being civilized Monsters

They returned his microphone

What a delightfully twisted write! Your meter and rhyme really moved this piece well.

You're welcome.
How very kind of them to return his microphone. This was adorable and fits perfectly in this season of monsters and ghouls.

Perfected satire and intelligent broad "strokes" - well done, good read.

Thank you, Thomas.
Haha … a great piece of seasonal satire. Monsters in three piece suits are the worse.

:) Thank you! There's just so much that I find funny...
Profound things that can escape our minds sometimes, this is definitely profound, so random and like a children's rhyme but that's only at first look. Randomness that lands onto paper can be so brilliant, this is brilliance in its hilarity and simplicity.
