A Chapter by Robert Connor

When Thomas opened his hatches, the sun was already blazing high in the sky.
He looked at right and saw blonde maiden with who he had met in the bar yesterday.
Admired for some time blondes a*s, which was seemed under the quilt, he turned his head to
the left and saw brunette girl, a friend of the previous miss, with who Thomas also had
some fun last night. He turned his head straight again and sighed contentedly.
Then he remembered that his bachelors life is being over about a year. Specifying, for
nine months. He sighed again, but this time from the grief. He raised himself to sit,
looked at the clock, which was on top of the bed cabinet and sprang up quickly.
"Jesus, it's already 12 at noon!" he shouted to himself.
"What a hell I was thinking that I drank so much? I hope she hasn't started to walk to
home. Certainly she wonders right now, what has happened to me!"
Thomas dressed up himself quickly, verified that all things are still in his pocket and
ran out of the door to his car, which was parked stright ahead of the building.
The man sat in his run-down sportscar, which was over the 30 years old and seen much more
than most of the people. Thomas accelerated sharply and wheezing, He took his cigarettebox
from his pocket and fired up a cigarette with his zippo. This time he didn't care about
the traffic rules or speed limits. To get there as quickly as possible was the main thing.
Woman's comments were no longer able to bypass, but Thomas hoped to alleviate them a little
bit. He reached to the hospital with few minutes. When he had parked his car, he stepped
out of it and threw his cigarette into recycle bin, which was in front of the hospital.
He ran around the corridors and tried to remind, which one is his wife's ward.
Meanwhile, he came to remember the forgotten flowers.
"Ah f**k these flowers!" he said to himself.
When he thought to be found the right ward, he knocked the door very carefully. No answer.
He stepped inside.
"And where have you been til now? Couldn't come any later?" asked Amanda.
"Sorry, traffic jam" said Thomas.
"Congestion? At this hour? And I understood that the bar supposed to be near the hospital.
Whatsoever, I can't understand why you couldn't stay here?" asked Amanda.
"You know how much I hate hospitals and blood" said Thomas.
"Fine," answered Amanda, "let's get going. Doctors allowed me to go for four hours ago.
Now it's 12 at noon, good that they've not kicked me out yet! All thanks to you!"
Amanda dressed herself up in a rush, took the baby from cradle and got going.
When they reached their car, Amanda asked: "And how would I be able to accommodate the
child here? Your car is such a piece of s**t!"
However, she settled down herself with the baby to the front seat. But still, it was
impossible to fasten the safety belt. They had a long journey ahead. Because there wasn't
any hospital in this city where they lived, they had to drive over 30 km to get home.
Thomas started the engine and got the car moving. This time he didn't want to scoot,
because the health of his child was important to him.
"How we name this baby?" asked Thomas.
"I don't know" said Amanda.
" Maybe Robert?" Thomas offered.
"No, I don't like that" said Amanda.
Thomas realized that Amanda said no because of his late arriving to the hospital.
"Fine, if that what you want. Then give him the name for yourself" said Thomas.
After the short altercation they avoided each other and drove ahead into the silence.
After few hours of driving it was clearly seen that everybody were tired. It was hot in
outside and the car was uncomfortable for long drivings. It was also enough dilapidated,
so suspicion of arrival was big. The car was cranky and rumbled on every side.
Couple arrived into bigger city. They had driven for tens of minutes.
Mother of the child was terribly tired. Father of the child didn't know if he should be
happy or sad. He had afraid of tying himself with somebody entire his life. But in his
heart he was still happy. He just didn't gladden over the fact that he got woman with baby.
The whole time when driving there had been this strange silence. Don't know even why.
Was this because young parents hadn't get along or because mother was too tired or because
of that car what had roar like a tank and it was impossible to hear what anybody said.
"Thomas, maybe we could go to market? I'm sure there's no food back home and the baby
need something too" asked Amanda. "Well I really don't feel like going to shop. I'd like
to go to sleep already. I'm so exhausted" said baby's father. Actually he was just injured.
Then got Amanda angry: "From what? Drinking? You think that I haven't felt this smell? You
think that I'm so dumb?" And now got Thomas angry too. "Shut up! What right you've got to
say so to me? Beeing my baby's mother doesn't give you the right to command me!"
Thomas was actually with very cold nerves, but right now he had a major hangover, his head
was hurting and his heart was bad. In this situation he got upset very easily.
Few minutes later they were arrived. Thomas opened the door and walked to other side of
the car to open the door for his child's mother. "I'm a mother, not invalid! I can open the
door myself!" barked Amanda. Thomas was so pissed off yet, but he didn't show that up.
He decided to show up indifference for return for Amanda's behavior. He wasn't this type
of guy who let's woman to sit on his head. He walked inside of a double staired block of
flats house through the first door of staircase. From there straight ahead to the second
floor and to the apartment door. He opened it and stepped inside without looking back to
see where's his child and it's mother.
He went to the fridge, opened it, took a bear from it and walked to the tv, which he turned
on and sat on a old couch. Right after that he heared the apartment door what was closed
with a loud hit. Thomas didn't move even his eye.
Arrived to the apartment, Amanda dressed her and baby for some comfortable clothes.
They both were rather grouchy. Thomas did handle it just a little better. They didn't talk
to each other. The air seemed so fat that it could cut with a knife.
Amanda made a coffee to herself without asking baby's dad if he wants too. Kitchen seemed
so discusting and dirty that Amanda got shocked when she saw it.
"Oh, but that's not any surprise. Thomas could not handle it to wash dishes. He can only
drink, f**k and find new lovers" thought Amanda.
Young mother didn't have any big time to drink her coffee or rest, although she was so
tired that her eyes fell forcibly close. Nothing to do with it. As Thomas was so clumsy,
Amanda had to do everything by herself. Dishes and laundry needed to wash, dinner needed
to made to this b*****d and the baby needed food too. Hours passed and kitchen finally
began to take shape. "Oh, still so much to do" thought Amanda in her head.
Finally it was time to feed baby. When Amanda walked to the cradle she discovered with
fright that baby wasn't there. She went to the living room to ask Thomas where's the baby.
Got there she saw how Thomas held his child softly in his arms while sitting on a couch.
Amanda watched for a long time them, because she never had seen this side of Thomas.
She never had seen this man so considerate. She felt to not recognize Thomas. It was just
so wonderful. Eventually Thomas noticed Amanda steering him and the child.
"And how long you've been watching us?" asked Thomas.
"Well, for some minutes, I guess" said Amanda, "how long you've been sitting in here like
this?" asked Amanda back.
"For some hours, I guess. I don't know. Time with him runs so fast" said Thomas.
Amanda looked them with admiration and said "You really get along with children. He cried
so much while in hospital. But with you he've been so quiet all the time. I have to feed
him now. You can deal with him later."
Amanda had calm down seeing how much Thomas loved this baby. She took the child gently
from Thomas and went on the bed to feed the little one. When the baby was fed, she served
dinner to herself and Thomas.
Thomas felt that he've drinked too much to hold the baby. His tongue was too soft and his
voice didn't sound as usually. Even his footsteps weren't so certain as usually.
Amanda wasn't happy for that. Thomas raised his but from the couch and pulled himself
lazily into the kitchen. His steps were very insecure. But it was nothing to surprise of,
he had drinked already 8-9 bottles of bear. He would've drink more, but there weren't
nothing to drink anymore.
When Thomas sat down behind the table to eat, Amanda had already served the food.
"Potatoes again! Damn woman, don't you know how to make something else?! Every single day
we've got the same food!" yelled Thomas. With sober head he wasn't like this.
"What should we eat then? You never bring anything to home. You spend all to your s***s and
vodka. Go and get them here then, let them make you a nice meal! Anyway you go to bars with
them! Showing everybody that you've got lovers! In this city, there's nobody who don't know
every single name of your s***s! Hoping you shut your mouth and make it in secret, but no,
you have to take them to the bars and show them to your friends and even this isn't enough
to you! You think that I don't know that in the same time when I was in pain in hospital,
you fucked your hookers god knows where?! Maybe you should bring them here and introduce
to me too! I know you don't love me but why you have to humiliate me like this?!"
While Amanda and Thomas were yelling at each other, the baby had started to cry and now he
roared from entire his throat. Then Thomas got so badly angry. He took the plate with food
from the table and threw it against to wall. His shot was so fast and strong that all the
plates pieces were on the floor.
"Don't bark sluttie!"
He ran fastly to Amanda and hit her on her face. Moment after Amanda was lying on the
floor. Her mouth was bleeding and she lost a few teeth.
Thomas stepped quickly out of the kitchen. He didn't seem drunk anymore. He seemed like
100% sober. He went to the bedroom and lyied on the bed with his face next to the pillow
for Amanda couldn't see his tears. He realised what he had done wrong. Still he fell
asleep quick and calmly.
Amanda was left alone on the kitchen floor. Her eyes were in tears. She didn't cry loudly.
She didn't know what to feel or do. She couldn't be angry. Even if Thomas had treated her
as a woman only at this night when the baby was conceived. She loved him like her man no
matter what. Although Thomas was sometimes violent, Amanda thought still he go that
something special inside of him. Beside, she knew she was the one who was always guilty in
every fight they had. She just couldn't handle the fact that Thomas didn't love her and
just used her at that night, which caused the baby as the result. Amanda thought that
deep inside Thomas got the golden heart in spite of beeing a lady-killer car driver.
Amanda had loved him since the beginning. She thought Thomas just can't devote himself to
a very one woman. He needed some alternation. He needed admiration and varied life.
When the baby realised there's nobody who comes to solace him, he just stopped crying.
Amanda got angry after few minutes of lying on the floor. She rose up, swept her tears
away and found a couple of bigger bags. She went to the bedroom where Thomas already snore
out at loud and packed quickly her things. There wasn't much to pack, just some few things.
Then she ran to the cradle, took the boy and put him to the little cart.
"That's it" thought Amanda inside her head, "how long I can stand this."
Thomas hadn't never hit her like this. Yes, he had slapped her, jerk her from hair or
clothes, but never hit her so bad that her mouth got bleeding.
On her way out, she remembered to wash her mouth clean. Other people didn't have to know
what had happened at home with her man. when everything was ready, Amanda stepped out of
the apartment unknowing where she should go.

Critisism. . .is spelling and grammar. big time.
And a question. . .what does this have to do with coming out of the closet?
I'm confused on what this is exactly about.
