Eternity

This endless void within my heart
can be only filled by your infinite love.
If only your love was mine to embrace,
but sadly it belongs to another.
As i toss and turn at night wondering
if maybe there's a chance.
A chance to show you my love
and forever hold each other in our arms.
An eternity may pass
but even then my love for you will never diminish,
but strengthen with each passing day.
But the roaring fire within my heart that longs for your touch
 will one day be extinguished by death's bitter sweet kiss.
And on my dieing breath i'd say.....
 i love you.

This spoke to my soul. I have so been there. I like how the poem is personal, yet still allows the reader to put it on as well... what I mean is, it is very accessible. I think most of us can think of a time in our lives when we felt this way, and if not, we dreamed of feeling this way... I only have felt the type of love you write about in this... epic level true love... once. A few years back... a lifechanging love... but like your poem said, "Sadly it belongs to another".
