Birth!

When life calls you to live, you want to break free of shackles and start off a new beginning...you want to be born anew...this piece is about a longing for such a new birth!

 

BIRTH!!!

 

I stand with arms outstretched,

Waiting for the rains to pour,

And drench my soul so stressed,

Wet me to my core.

 

I wish that dark clouds may appear,

To blot out the painful past,

To make all the demons disappear,

To thunder away shadows that last.

 

I breathe in that mellow smell,

Of wet earth and soil,

That can in an instance tell,

Of the travails of my spoil.

 

It holds onto the footprints,

Encrypted on its breast,

And treasures deep in its bosom,

Secrets that should rest.

 

And despite the untold truths,

That it so guardedly holds,

It attempts to nurture and nourish

more dreams within its folds.

 

Bright blossoms bloom forth,

Making way for new life,

That roots out all the sorrow,

And overcomes all strife.

 

And I wait for them to grow,

To see what they may reveal,

To find out if they know

how and what I feel?

 

But does it really matter,

That they are born of pain,

For they’re here for a reason – to live,

Not to be dampened by the rain!

 

 And, so, I wait all alone,

With anticipation rid anxiety,

For a new era to commence,

Of new hope, new love and new piety!
