Beauty!

�A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever� This line from Keats that I read while in my college days inspired me to write these lines....these were written way back, in 2003-04, and I had lost the poem....I just found it a few days back�

Beauty

 

     BEAUTY – indescribable, uncountable,

     Immeasurable, unstoppable,

     Undefinable ...

     Undeniably wonderful!

 

     Dewdrops slipping onto the wet green grass,

     The water, gleaming and reflecting

     The golden sunlight onto the ether around.

     Beautiful-but...describable?

 

     The birds, of early dawn and dusk,

     Twittering and singing away.

     Birds of summer, of spring, maybe even winter.

     Beautiful-but...countable?

 

     The vast blue firmament, smiling down at you,

     The overspread ocean, the golden sands,

     The horizon far away, the stars at night.

     Beautiful-but...measurable?

 

     The numerous smiles of people you ever see,

     The tender words of friends,

     The touch of a beloved...

     Beautiful-but...stoppable?

 

     The dew, the grass, the sunlight,

     The birds, the sky, the ocean,

     The sands, the horizon, the stars,

     The smiles, the words, the touches.

     Beautiful-but is it definable?

 

     What is beauty? True beauty?

     It may be truth, may be joy,

     May be anything one could ever think of.

  

     But, whatever it may be,

     True beauty is wonderful,

     Undeniably wonderful.

     In one word - BEAUTIFUL!
