More than just a Drunk

More than just a Drunk

A Poem by Ronny

More than just a Drunk

Alcohol streams trough his veins
Called it medicine for his pains.
Sickness made him choose his ways
No longer a sailor the doctor states.

A heart disease was his fate
never again would the ship him freight.
A Drunken sailor he became
stranded, the sickness he would blame.

Alcohol streamed through his veins
putting his family in mental chains.
Never would he sail again
along, anger and sorrow came.

His sorrow drowned in spirits did
never saw his tearful kids.
Drank so much his life would end
Left behind his family and friends.

Never got to say goodbye
important things kept me occupied.
Drunken sailor past away
But still my father I will say.
