Affront of the Front

Affront of the Front

A Poem by Rosa Carlyle-Mitchell
"

People maintain crippling facades.

"

An ostentatious affectation:
the description of your impersonation.
Your fleeting disposition
worn with particular position
is a pestilent rendition
of an optomistic supposition.

Your smug and clouded discourse
deemed a failure of a force
makes me repudiate the source
and suspect soon-to-come remorse.

So ostensibly omniscient -
so fine and magnificent.
Oh! Infernal discontent
Dissembling the descent.

Your timid mind might be glamorous
and your manner surely amorous;
But i plead: divest all that's spurious,
To your truth I am curious!

A tad grandiloquent? :P I joke, there's some neat literary acrobatics going on here, I had fun reading it. It's a very clever use of fancy language as well, 'Affront of the front'. Clever, enjoyable to read, thumbs up!

you put on a good show of being somebody, but you hide behind your pretentions...please show me who you really are.

i love this...

one reason is the alliteration, the movement, and the very natural rhyming...

not contrived, but done in a way that feels like you were just thinking in rhyme...the only time i use rhyme is when it is just there...i never Try to make it happen.

damn you are good..i shall return again and again to your page.

~ haha... well said, dudette... ~ i just wish that "soon-to-come remorse" would not take years to appear (i'm waiting for someone to wake up since a really, really long time)... and, i like the word "spurious" a lot... loved the way you deployed it... :)
