Embrace

Embrace

A Poem by Anna

I found solace in a tight embrace,
the kind you can't escape.
And I can't breathe; going cold,
keeping secrets in the fold.
I'm suffocating in this place,
drowning on some airless plane.
And I shy from aid, still and old,
but I'm so glad I have someone to hold.

To me, it seems like the fifth line should be first but, regardless, I get a similar death vibe that seems to hover in some of your other poems.

Of course, it could relate to frustrations that have manifested into a relentless pall that won't go away due to specific situations. The embrace being a release that makes life bearable.

Either way, good one Anna.

I would have to agree with another review. It does seem like "death's embrace". suffocating from the hold what ever has hold of you but yet you are not alone.

This almost seems like a death embrace. Both all consuming yet fading.

I liked the poem. Had the feel of a secret whisper. Captured and it is okay. Thank you Anna for sharing the amazing poetry.
