Thoughts In Velen

A Poem by Anna

My heart has leapt, it's fled,
I don't know where it's gone.
But still I linger to listen,
to all of your ramblings-on.

My chest is filled with rust,
drowned in pallid hatred, cruel,
Sensations of life are missing there,
but your words are plenty full.

I have but nothing when you're quiet,
though when you speak I roam.
My eager joy just lays in waiting,
for when your mind comes home.

I am all these old dusty things,
that sit in attics, leaking rain.
Forgotten till the moment arrives,
when you bring sun to summer grain.

O' my heart has flown, it's left,
I don't know where it's hidden.
But still I always stay to hear,
in case you ask I'll listen.

Words escape my meager thoughts,
to tell you what I seem to know.
I don't say, but I love you, brother,
though all of that, I bury and grow.

We become many things in a life.
"I am all these old dusty things,
that sit in attics, leaking rain.
Forgotten till the moment arrives,
when you bring sun to summer grain."
The above lines I questioned often. Looking for a savior till we learn, we save ourselves. Outstanding poetry dear Anna. You are my muse for writing today.
