Cassette

A Poem by Anna

I wanted to give you
something.
A handful of fireflies
that kept you
glowing.

Something
profound but warm
and subtle.

I wanted to give you
Love.
But I never could
replicate it
well enough
to give.

So forgive me
for all my
nothings.

I made you a cassette
with your
favorite songs.
And if you tear out
the film
don't tell me.
