"

For whom or for what do I sing all my songs?

Paradichlorobenzene

I sing everyday and I sing all day long

Paradichlorobenzene

But why do I sing? That I don't understand

Paradichlorobenzene

Searching for the answers, into the night I ran

So let us sing and now let us dance

Paradichlorobenzene

Screaming so loud we fall into trance

Paradichlorobenzene

Villagers, dogs and even the cats

Paradichlorobenzene

Let's lose our minds and be happy at last

Until we start to crumble

I've hated rules ever since I was young

They hold me in place, take away all the fun

And so I have decided to run away

Disregarding the life that I had made

People these days are far too strict

All I want is to be a little wicked

So I slip from my house in the midst of night

Running through my town deprived of its light

What is my purpose? Why am I alive?”

I said to a scrawny little stray feline

The cat said nothing in reply

Just looked at me with those spiteful eyes

So I drowned down some coffee that I can't stand to drink

And I looked to the cloudy sky to think

What in this moment am I capable of?

I don't even know that much!

So louder I sing and louder I shout

Paradichlorobenzene

But what is it that I am screaming about?

Paradichlorobenzene

How are you happy with what you call life?

Paradichlorobenzene

If you broke free from all of these rules do you think you would soon change your mind?

I wish I could spill my guts to a friend

Paradichlorobenzene

I'll destroy all evil and justice I'll defend

Paradichlorobenzene

With truth as my shield my stress melts away

Paradichlorobenzene

As we're finally still and we stop wandering

Will we finally see our sins?

Does this song have a meaning?

This verse does not hold meaning

Should this song be called a sin?

Is my life in name of sin?

Benzene has a meaning

Benzene does not have meaning

Benzene is a deadly sin

The meaning of life is... Benzene

And that's when I suddenly realize

The world is just full of hypocrisy and lies

How much is my life truly worth?

The stray cat's already drowned to death

I threw away my empty coffee

I look up into the dark sky above me

What am I doing with myself?

I really wish that I knew that

But I don't really know anything

And this is the part where you begin to laugh

Paradichlorobenzene

I shove you away, I am free at last

Paradichlorobenzene

I know I am right and I know you are wrong

Paradichlorobenzene

Embraced by the darkness, I fade away

Sayonara so long

So now let us sing this long night away

Paradichlorobenzene

Together we laugh and soon we covet

Paradichlorobenzene

It's just you and me so ignore everything

Paradichlorobenzene

So come lose your mind, like me, go insane

Until we begin to crumble.

You are special...one does have to read more of you. You are an artist. I take my hat off to you...but I haven't a hat..so I shall just say....take a breath...it's OK to go in and out...we all do...but do us a favor...when you come back out leave word of what you found there...I for one am fascinated.

Thank you! There's nothing wrong with short poems, it's the content that matters! :)
I’m ensnared, beautifully penned, and a new favorite of mine.
