Pretty In Black

Pretty In Black

A Poem by Ross Emerson Realino

Black is the ink of our blood
Together we'll tattoo them in our hearts
They may seem to misunderstand you
But you are truly indeed beautiful in black
Not just in my eyes
But in the deepest cut of me
Through razors and blades
Through silence and screams
Through music and style
All I see is your smile
Covered by your emotions
Never been touched
And yet to be discovered
Nevermind the paranoia
As long as punk is not dead
You'll be safe here in my shadow
Behind my weary soul
Together we'll be lost
Forever in the dark

SUCH an intense piece of work, really beautiful and dark (my favourite kind), it's so imaginative , I adore how you've described all the feelings in this and the words you've used/ It was really hard to pick out favourite lines but I think it's
"All I see is your smile
Covered by your emotions
Never been touched "
It's very moving and it's something I can relate to very personally. There are so many ways to take those lines but the way I see it is that even though the subject of the poem seems to everyone else to always be miserable and black inside, you see nothing but the good in her, the light in the shadows.
Excellent!

About
I used to try writing songs before but I can't make one, so I tried to find something where I can put my early works of lyrics. Until they were turned into poems. I started poetry when I was 16 years .. more..
