A Tale For A Raven

A Tale For A Raven

A Poem by Rowen Cameron
"

The Raven sees everything. As a minstrel his stories are snippets from life. When he saw her, her story was written on her face.

"

I see you there, Raven,
In your shelter of green.
You sing and I wonder,
What must you have seen?

 Among birds, you’re a minstrel
In thrall to no king.
The world is your story,
So sing, Raven, sing.

Sing of the woman,
Dark-haired and driven.
Kind and naive
And her heart quickly given.

Sing of the man,
Intense yet caring;
Lagoon-like eyes
Which made her keep staring.

Sing of their bond,
How she was so kind,
How his infinite ignorance
Left her behind.

Sing of her tears
And her broken core,
Her cold vow to weep
For him no more.

Dark, clever Raven,
Yes she is I.
I pray you will do this
With no question why.

Sing for him, Raven.

Sing what you see.

The ghost he embraced then discarded,

Me.

I'm blown away by the talented writers I have found here in just 21 days...You must have been there all the time but I was hidden by my own darkness. This piece is special to me just because it is...It MAKES ME FEEL! For me it is perfection that pulls me in without resistance.

"Sing for him, Raven.
Sing what you see.
The ghost he embraced then discarded,
Me."
