Dreaming of Death, What comes Next?

Dreaming of Death, What comes Next?

A Poem by Roxie Martelli
"

I feel like this needs to be worked with. I'm not sure what I want with it though. Suggestions and tasteful critique are more than welcome.

A smell of spice in the wind
Every time I arrive, its different, but the smell is still the same
Still bringing that nostalgic feeling every time I enter this land

It makes me wonder, will death have this friendly, known embrace?
Will I be comforted and feel known when I slip into the final sleep?
Will I twirl and leap, bounding in and out of extravagant acts of fancy?

I come across death many times in this soft illusion of the world
When your wants unparalleled are strewn across the vastness of the skies,
somehow to be put into a plot, into an action, somehow to be brought to life.

Death, I fear, may not have this warm, beautiful touch.
Death, I fear, may not be what we on this earth, have thought.
Death, I fear, may be just the beginning of what people themselves had wrought.

Through this life, how can we expect to see paradise if its only in our dreams?

Reality...are we afraid of what's here?

Dreaming of Death, quite the parallel, when dreaming of death in life...

What comes next?

Basically about my dreamland and how I feel, then corralating it to life. Like I said above, not sure what to do with it, tasteful critique and suggestions are welcome.

Lay-out, lay-out, lay-out, my pet. These lines each present a powerful message--air them out a bit, they'll work harder for you. Suffocated messages dislike suffocation, as it were. For example, you wrote [so beautifully]: "It makes me wonder, will death have this friendly, known embrace?
Will I be comforted and feel known when I slip into the final sleep?
Will I twirl and leap, bounding in and out of extravagant acts of fancy?" If it were me, I'd seperate that like so:
"It makes me wonder--
will death have this friendly embrace?
Will I be comforted
--Will I feel known slip I into final sleep?
Will I twirl and will I leap
bounding in and bounding out
of my extravagant fancy?"

But hey, that's just me. It's an opinion thing. Find the middle line, and whatknot. ;) Happy new year!

Keep Writing.

A very thought provoking piece... there are so many theories as to what happens wen you die form all different philosophers and religions... I guess the key is too find what you believe your self based after taking in all info you can and lead the life you have now cause once dead control is your no more. A very poignant write.
