In a Single Breath

In a Single Breath

A Poem by =

In a single breath I knew,
I knew the time we had was done,
The pain in your eyes was enough to show,
The final note had been sung.
In a single tear I knew,
Things would never be the same,
The quiver in your hand told me so,
And now I hold back the shame.
In one single word I knew,
The world around me was gone,
Your words screaming it into my face,
The light of you no longer shone.

Very strong flow of words and thoughts led to sad ending.
"Your words screaming it into my face,
The light of you no longer shone."
I liked the above lines. Powerful and true. Thank you Roy for sharing the excellent poetry.

So much agony living inside this one. It is tragically beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
