I tried, to love you.

I tried, to love you.

A Poem by =

And if it wasn't for the want
That you threw at me every day.
Or for the yearning you showed
As you screamed my name.

If it wasn't for the passion,
The passion you showed
Every single day, or the
Love I wanted to reciprocate.

I could have left everything.
It could have all been done.
We could've parted, either
each other or our lives.

And all the times you begged,
pleading me to stay the night.
All the times you promised
Things would change.

Yet nothing ever did,
And we were never to work.
Not like the beginning,
When we were full of hope.

So as bittersweet as it can be,
You were never the problem.
And I promise you, I wanted to,
More than the sun yearns to rise.

I tried to love you.

I wouldn't like the feeling of not loving someone I really wanted to love. I wounder how much this happens.

Really good read!

Powerful and honest thoughts my friend.
"So as bittersweet as it can be,
You were never the problem.
And I promise you, I wanted to,
More than the sun yearns to rise."
I liked the above lines. Made the ending solid. Thank you Roy for sharing the excellent poetry.

I liked the poem. It feels a little choppy to me, but that could be a good thing from a certain point of view. The choppiness kind of makes it feel desperate. At any rate, the emotion is very apparent. Nice job. =)

I could see the emotions on both sides as I read it. So even though it is kind of a monologue poem your words have given me the two sides.

I like it. Well done.
