A Poem by Nihad Dweidary

I chase you in the silence of the streets.

Your smile is everywhere

And your curls are on every shoulder.

No summer breeze can explain to me

How you paint my night

With one ultimate desire,

To find you

While you constantly hide

And to kiss you

While you quickly depart.

"And you curls are on every shoulder." --- 'you' should be 'your'

I feel the plaint of a heart that is grasping for a love just beyond reach. Just when you think you have it, it escapes you once again. Haunting you and beckoning you onward still. So near and yet so far.
