The Wind

The Wind

A Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere
"

If you reveal your secrets to the wind, you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees. Khalil Gibran

"

…Free as a bird,

the wind splits the air,

escaping in a rapid way

the arms of the trees,

laughing he shrieks

on the garret of the attic.

His chilly breath

writes with wings

warm words

evaporating away

in the haze.

Frolic it plays through the branches

as a young dog and jumps

after the fallen leaves.

Windless

it waits sometimes on a breeze

that will free him

out of the lee of his cage…

Such a lovely quote by Khalil Gibran for an introduction to this magnificent offering, Rudi. I could listen for hours to the wind, the rustling sound of it, and sometimes, the way in which it whistles. We have Santa Ana winds here in California, and they can be very strong...but at the same time, feel very tropical in the summer.

This reads beautifully, and quite poetic to nature. Much enjoyed!

This is a very beautiful experience. Music can move the soul through the medium of the body. It speaks directly into the heart. Words reach us through the mind. A wonderful collaboration!

This is great. I can picture the situation clearly while reading. I found it peaceful until the twist at the end with the cage. I always feel a bit weird critiquing/reviewing your work because you're so much better than I am! BUT I did love this and love reading your work :) I just never really know what to say lol. Thank you for sharing this with me :)

Alstublieft, houd schrijven!

I love the feeling of the wind blowing all throughout your poem

I see serenity even in winds

They challenge nature
Yet nature stands tall

Able to take on anything

Beautiful

Thank you, Nisreenaa. glad you like it. Thank you for your nice comment. :) Rudi
Rudi: It is very interesting and insightful...the secrets in the winds...carried away, how beautiful you write with such phenomenal metaphors, the comparisons to of human things to nature is great. I love the poem, like all of your work. It's the song of the wind, the words of our lives. Beautiful. Thank you so very much Rudi. Dale
