15. Lost Soul

15. Lost Soul

A Chapter by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere

Threatening clouds,

Dangerously hovering over,

dancing inside my head,

Bulging with tints of grey,

Driven by a demon’s force,

A deadly whirlpool

Churned up by heavy winds,

It’s swirling and pulling at my gravity,

Gulping down my everything,

Magnetizing, mesmerizing like the devil is,

Destroying without mercy,

Without withholding,

I’m struck by his flashes of lightning,

Deafened by the sounds of his thunder,

What’s left are ominous whispers in my ear,

White noise, full of dark promises,

Forcing me, leading me to the abyss,

Blasphemous songs are climbing from the depth,

I smell the blue sulfur and decay rising,

I see the flames of hell now,

I feel the scorching heat inside,

My lost soul is burning already.

Thank you for writing a book after me. You can always spend time under my wings. LOL, okay okay just messing around. Dark, very dark. I like dark. There's a whirlwind of imagery here that I like. Thunder, fire, decay, rotting smells, everything I'd expect that comes from a lost soul's descent into hell. I wonder if there was a better way to end it. 'My lost soul is burning already' seems a bit bland and cliche all things considered. I love the dark whispers of terrible promises, the songs of blasphemy, you kind of built up this rage of hell and then we ended on that weak note when it should arguably be the strongest of them all. I quite liked this.
